The Pampanga Agricultural College (PAC, http://www.pac.edu.ph), now known as Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), recently acquired Follett's Destiny Library Manager software to automate its extensive library holdings. PAC is Central Luzon's leading agricultural college, with a total land area of around 700 hectares in Magalang town. It traces its history back to 1885 as an agricultural experiment station. It was also previously known as Magalang Farm School and Pampanga National Agricultural School (PNAS).PAC staff headed by Library Administrator Merck Sianson Tan were delighted that the new web-based software increased their productivity, was easy to operate, and comes with built-in features found only in more expensive library systems that are not supported locally. It also complies fully with RDA (Resource Description and Access), the latest standard in library cataloging.
Electronic Information Solutions Inc. (EISI), Philippine distributor of Chicago-based Follett School Solutions, provided start-up training to jumpstart the conversion from manual to automated system. EISI's Edward Arcilla, Technical Support Specialist, guided the participants through the process of setting up the system, copy and original cataloging, circulation, inventory and other steps to ensure a smooth transition for the PAC library.
After the one-week training, PAC librarians are further supported online via EISI's chat support facility, which provides remote support to all of EISI's customers 9 hours a day, 5 1/2 days a week. Many issues and questions are quickly resolved and answered by our proactive support agents who are fully trained and equipped to solve any of our clients' concerns.
PAC can be reached at phone +63 45 866-6116. EISI can be contacted at email firstname.lastname@example.org and phone +63 2 8436571 and mobile +63 922 8829759.

When our board of trustees requested to have our library resources visible in the web, I sought for a new program because our current Athena system cannot provide access on the web.
I was introduced to Destiny Resource Management solution by our partner in USA Summer Institute of Linguistics since they were also using Athena before. So I invited Electronic Information Solutions to our office and they made a demonstration of the product called 'Destiny version 9'. I was impressed by the product. Also, when I heard that FEU and Union Church of Manila are using the same product I called them right away and made an investigation regarding their technical assistance and they gave me a good feedback about EISI's technical assistance. When buying a product, I will consider first the aspect of technical assistance, if they are 100% supportive of me and can easily respond to my call. Googletalk is always available for us to seek assistance from them. I requested two times for demonstration: first, with my staff, and second I invited the decision makers in our office together with our faculty and Finance administrator to watch the product demonstration. After the demonstration I asked them about the product and all of them gave a thumbs up sign, no words but thumbs up. And then I made a requisition to purchase the product.
What is good in the Destiny product?
Now, I received the new version of Destiny 9.5 with added features on it. I am contented with the product and I will recommend the Destiny software for your library. There are a lot more features in the product that I'm still discovering by manipulating the software.
